I might be doing a colour commission soon so just practising after doing so much black and white work. Here’s a sketchy anatomically incorrect fawn.

The Tuts

I might use this illustration for a cover for something, I’m not sure. I’m getting withdrawals. I miss going to The Tuts gigs!  I wish they would tour with Kate Nash forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever. They’ll be doing stuff again soon with her anyway I’m sure. I can’t wait to show you guys the new Colour Me Wednesday album art! I’m not allowed to show you yet, as it’s top secret, but I can’t wait. I want a vinyl soooo bad.

‘Hey Sis’ featured on Pulp Zine/Pulp Girls!

Yeah, go read it, my minicomic is featured there. I just noticed some typos too, haha. Here are some of my favourite panels. Working on Colour Me Wednesday album art now and should be getting a commission based around the Great Fire of London soon.

its-a-tragesty-seth asked: I saw your comic in the pulp zine, and now I'm creeping your tumblr, and your work is amazing. How much of your drawings/ comics are done digitally, if any?

Cool! Thanks for the follow! Most of my comics/drawings are digital but tend to start off as really rough pencil drawings. Here’s a 95% traditionally drawn Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee, (I think I made her look more like Amy Poehler haha). I’ll be seeing her in June!image

‘Hey Sis’ Minicomic

This is a minicomic I did for The Pulp Girl’s first issue of The Pulp Zine. The theme for May is ‘Good Times’. It’s based loosely on Hey Sis, a song by Dum Dum Girls. I really fell in love with the song, although I have no idea what the exact lyrics are, (so if someone knows, please give meeee themmm). It’s about a little girl hanging out with her cool big sis. She really looks up to her and copies absolutely everything she does. She can’t wait to grow up so she can be like her. I can relate to her as I use to love hanging out with my big sis when I was really young. She used to work at Heathrow and have fancy-pants drinks all the time. I can remember she use to save those little cocktail umbrellas for me. I didn’t understand why you’d want a tiny umbrella unless you were a teeny mouse or something. Big sisters are totally underrated so this is for them!

Skinny Girl Diet at Buffalo Bar in London, 3rd May 2013

Really wanted to see these guys for ages and wasn’t disappointed. It was quite dark, so taking snaps was difficult. Sam, (of Colour Me Wednesday) and I also did some filming for The Ethical Debating Society. they’re releasing a split single with Skinny Girl Diet and Sam, please don’t forget your SD card next time when I’m with you, haha.

Gecko T-shirt Design

Having done designs for girl bands/bands with girls, it’s been weird doing stuff for man bands! I had lots of fun on this commission. These designs are for Gecko a London-based band comprising of Will, Si, Ben and Gabriel, boyfriend to the awesome Harriet of The Tuts and Colour Me Wednesday. Gecko definitely wanted an animal design in colour at first, something with an elephant, but it didn’t quite work, as they were looking for something with more grrrrr and less cute. They really liked an old ink sketch I did of a lion and so decided they’d go for a bold black and white style with the lion design instead. They’ll probably turn one of the elephant designs into a sticker though. Gecko will be touring with The Skints, so look out for my big cat design on merch tables soon!

Kate Nash & The Tuts at The 100 Club in London, 1st May 2013

A few snaps taken during rehearsal, and Kate Nash jamming with the Tuts at soundcheck. She was so sweet, her shoes were amazing! People could have shown some more support for The Tuts, but I guess they’re spoilt for choice in London. Once Kate Nash was on stage I could barely take any more pictures. Loved the girly stage invasion at the end! I think I managed to record it on Jen’s camera. May be she’ll post it!
